What the Veneer Process Involves
A small amount of enamel is removed from the front of each tooth to create space for the veneer – this is a permanent, irreversible step that Dr. Velkovski will discuss thoroughly before moving forward. Impressions are taken and sent to a dental lab where your custom veneers are fabricated to precise specifications. At a second appointment, the veneers are bonded permanently to each prepared tooth, custom-shaded and shaped to blend naturally with your face and existing teeth.
What Veneers Can and Cannot Fix
Veneers are effective at correcting permanent discoloration that whitening cannot address, chips and cracks in the enamel, slightly uneven or irregular tooth shapes, small gaps, and minor length discrepancies. They are not the right choice for significant misalignment or bite issues, which are better addressed through orthodontic treatment first. Dr. Velkovski will be honest with you at your consultation about whether veneers will deliver the outcome you are looking for.
